Sorry I left you in the dark about the results of the doctor's appointment. I'm fine, sort of.
He told me I had coxis saltan (?) . . . which means popping hip. Uhhhh, Mr. Doctor? I already KNEW my hip was popping and that it was due to a tendon. What I didn't know is how to make the pain and popping STOP.
Sigh.
He prescribed six weeks of physical therapy twice a week and if the pain doesn't stop we'll go from there. I'm happy to do that but I'm doubtful that it will help much. We'll see how the running goes over the next few days.
Speaking of running, I have TOTALLY been using my sinus infection as a great reason not to exercise. I'm still a little drippy . . . let's watch TV!! As of today, excuses are done. Body, we're going to the gym and we're running a mile. NO ARGUING.
So, there you have it. Me and my coxis saltan are going to pop our way to the finish of the triathalon in April, even if it kills us.

Well I'm glad your injury is nothing serious, but be careful! And I can make up ANY excuse not to exercise. Call me if you need ideas.
:)
I'm so glad you're still planning on doing the 'Divas Tri' with us in April! But take it easy, maybe try swimming now and then to help with your hip. Less impact and it might help heal it a little bit. Ooooh! I was just thinking - maybe all of us should go swimming when we're all here for your B-day.
KATE! Sorry about your hip old lady! Doctors drive me batty when they tell you something you already know. I just want to say "Okkkay so you went to medical school for four years and had thousands of dollars of debt so you could point out the obvious?" Super. I'll just go pay my copay now.
I get so behind on blogs! Your poor injury! I hope you are ok :)
I've also been to countless doctor's appts where all they do is lecture me on stuff I already know. Quite frustrating. I hope you're okay though.
Since you seem to have a lot of free time, you should probably check this guy out. Have you heard of Brian Regan? He's an awesome comedian and your blog reminded me of a time when all he talked about was doctors, the money you pay them, and the stuff they tell you that you already know.

I think you'll like it. :0D
Alice, I love Brian Regan! He's so freaking funny!! I can't wait to watch that video though, I don't think I've ever seen that one!
As a physical therapist, I promise if you faithfully do your P.T. and keep up your exercises then your hip wont pop (at least as much)
you can do it!
Sorry the doc wasn't able to be a bit more productive but hopefully the physio will do the trick.
My fingers are still crossed for ya.
Let us know how the training is coming and keep up the good work.
