Crispy

I think I've discussed my crispified eyeballs before, but the feeling is back and it's not a good one. Things have been IN.SANE. this week and though I've been sleeping, I'm still exhausted.

I haven't worked out once this week and I know that's part of the problem. I feel like a big fat giant couch slug, oozing onto the couch and screaming "FEED ME!" Soon I'm going to weigh as much as a whale and have arteries stuffed as full as sweet Italian sausage.

Ew.

I have been a horrible blog friend this week. I've read ALL of your posts from my reader but somehow my clicker finger can't find the will to actually travel to your blogs and make my adoration known. Please refer to the slug comment. It applies to my clicker finger as well. And all my typing fingers for that matter. In fact, typing this is immensely painful because my fingers are so swollen I can barely separate them.

Again, ew, and not actually a true statement.

I have found SO many new blogs to read thanks to my little tryst on Molly's blog. I am SO excited for the weekend so I can lounge on the couch and surf through archives. I also need to find something interesting to write so I don't scare any of my new lovers away. That's right, I said lovers. You're all my lovers. Don't tell Matt.

Anyway, not much else going on here. I leave for Orlando on Monday for work and then I get to spend the weekend in New Orleans visiting the Great Tofutti (also known as my little sister, Meagan) and I would be jumping for joy if I could find the energy and will to jump and express joy. Just know the voices in my head are doing the Macarena. Awesome.

hellOOOOOOO!

Tap.Tap. Is this thing on??

Woah, I feel like I'm starting my first day of school or something - like I'm unloading my brand new pink back-pack filled with new notepads and colored pens. Only this time I'm trying to remember my blogger password and how to type!

So, um, I have lots to catch up on. Christmas was awesome. The Katestravaganza Birthday Celebration was awesome (despite spending the evening before wrapped around Mr. Toilet thanks to some Mexican food that didn't agree with me.) and there was lots and lots of snow in Utah as well as delicious water right out of the tap! In the coming days I'll try to catch you all up on my super exciting life.

Today I just wanted to say hi and let you know I wasn't dead. I also wanted to let you know that had I been updating things, I would have had to reset my Kateastrophe counter about fifty times over the holiday, but seeing as how I didn't keep up, I'll reset it for Friday, December 28th when I elegantly slammed over a full glass of Sprite onto Brillig's lap at my birthday dinner. Whoops!

So, moving on. I have questions for you. I'm (once again) stumped as to what to write about in the coming year, so I figured I'd just ask you guys if there's something you're dying to hear about. I want to write more. I NEED to write more, I just don't have much going on that seems . . . publishable. So, darlings, tell me vat you vant to hear. I will do my very best to address every topic you request. Promise. (And now here's where I plead with you to give me topics. I'm going to feel like a total dolt if no one says anything!!)

Ok with that, I have schloads of work to catch up on after my vacation so I'm off!

For the record, I missed you and I'm going to attempt to catch up on the 37 million posts in my reader and maybe even COMMENT!! Yuhikes.

To Think or Not To Think . . .

Well, well, well. I have been flattered once again and the illustrious Brillig nominated me for a Thinking Blogger Award. This award was designed to honor blogs that make you think. So, um, apparently I make Brillig think "what the crap is up with THAT girl??"

I really am honored. Here's what my nominator (heheh, sounds like Terminator) said about me:

"Kate is a funny girl who comes across as very poised, but is apparently a big ol' clutz. She keeps a ticker on her blog telling you how many days it's been since her last "Kateastrophe"--always hilarious. But there's often more depth here than first meets the eye-- she'll have you in stitches one minute and in tears the next."

So now I'm supposed to continue the honoring . . .

Here be the rules:

1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to five blogs that make you think.

2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the origin of the award.

3. Optional: Proudly display the "Thinking Blogger Award" on your blog if you were nominated.

So now I have to nominate five blogs that make me think . . . this is gonna be tricky, because obviously I wouldn't read a blog if it didn't make me think at least a little . . .

1. Jurgen Nation
Stacey goes from being side splitting hilarious (you cannot skip her "about me" section. I read it again and again and laugh every time) to bringing me to the brink of tears. Plus she's an amazing photographer to boot!

2. The View From Here
I am loving his eloquent writing, his well thought out points and that . . . well, he's a GUY in the blogging world. We need some more of those!

3. Girl, Dislocated
She doesn't post very often, but when she does, you're almost always guaranteed to laugh your butt off (or in her case a leg or arm) at her fun stories about life with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. (aka her appendages just randomly pop out of their sockets! Hours of fun!)

4. Diary of the Nello
Kelly, aka Nello, always has something interesting to say and I'm always entertained because she and I seem to share a lot of the same views and frustrations. I love reading through her archives. I could play there for hours.

5. Boobs, Injuries and Dr. Pepper
Crystal is a newer blog friend, but I LOVE her blog. I want to be JUST LIKE HER when I grow up.

There are MANY more blogs I want to honor, but I was limited to five.

Phew! At least it wasn't another Meme, right?!?!

Hahaha.

I'm Addicted

I think I've mentioned this before, but I'm sort of addicted to blogs and blogging. Want to know HOW addicted?

- I bought a domain name with the intent to create my own website and someday make MONEY on this thing!

- I subscribed to Google Reader so that I no longer have to blog hop to find out if my favorite blog's have new posts. IT'S ALL LISTED FOR ME!! I can just log on to my google account and BAM! there they are. All the new posts and feeds of all the blogs. I LOVE IT!

- My new career goal is to be a full time blogger. Seriously.

- I feel a sense of emptiness when I have nothing exciting to blog about. How sad and lame is that??

So, what is my point?

Get a Google reader account. It is so freaking cool. And kick yourself for not getting stock in Google. They are taking over the world.

Is This Thing On?

OK I'm working on transferring over my blog "The Murphs" to this MUCH more fun named blog. So be prepared world! I'm going to take the blogging world by storm!

If you want to see my older, brilliant posts (all of which will eventually be moved over to this new blog) you can visit the first edition at www.the-murphs.blogspot.com Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to move the comments over, so some of the hilarity is going to be lost. It's sad but I think I'll be alright.

Welcome and hold on to your hats!!
