The Year of the Man

Well, it's happened. New Year's Day Matt finally decided to "take a stand" and has declared 2008 "The Year of the Man."

He has asked me to issue a warning of things to come, informing us all that January is "Prep Month" and he's been gracious enough to allow all of us women to get used to the idea before the change of power takes place on February 1st. He warns that it will be a year of sports, red meat, poorly acted (and written) action films and all foods deep fat fried.

Every time I try to suggest something he might not like he declares "Not during Man Year!"

Yeah right. We shall see, my man. We shall see.

That's hilarious. What I find funny is that in your URL for this post, it says Year of Man. And that cracked me up, like a cave man is saying It is Year of Man. Man eat red meat! Rawr, I Man! Hehe...

Well, is the lovin' on his list for Year of the Man? Because that might be the key to your suggestions......

So...by January 28th, we can expect it to return back to the year of woman, right?

Wow, I mean, barring the poorly acted action flicks and sports, I think maybe I could really go for that. But then, I guess those are fairly integral parts of the Year of the Man, so actually, I think that maybe I'll just eat a donut.

Haha, wow that's hilarious. You should just say it's the year of the "WO-MAN". Haha :)

I know you don't know me, but I read your guest-post on "These Little Moments," and I was compelled to venture over to your site. That story was one of the funniest things I've read in a long time... one that actually happened to a real person, that is. I'm known for being something of a klutz myself (actually a lot of a klutz), but man, I could see what happened to you happening only in a movie. Anyway, just wanted to say, "hi!" and thanks for posting :)

Hi, I'm a relatively new reader. Nice to meet you :).

I think your husband's comment is hilarious. See how long that lasts.

Make sure Matt doesn't let Jeremy catch wind of this "year of the man"!

Sounds like the way our household is run every year LOL--especially the deep fried foods. Sports is fishing, hunting, wilderness survival shows, etc. And movies--well, of course, I don't have to attend those, and they don't have to go to mine!
