The Important Things (A Question)

I have a question Internets.

Hypothetically –

As a gift, you are presented with a $550 gift card to Zappos.com. Do you:

  1. Find one amazing, ridiculously expensive item (saaay Couture shoes or a bag) to spend that credit on and get yourself something you'd NEVER buy yourself in real life but would LOVE to have if you were frivolous with money that way.

OR

  1. Spread it out and get as many items as you possibly could

My next question:

What would you buy on Zappos.com?

Send links! I'm curious to see your favorites on that incredible site!

Also send help. (Hypothetically)

Answer to first question - no. While fancy, stupidly expensive stuff can be glammy, chances are only a handful of people really know what it is and...who cares? Designer stuff that's uber-expensive is overrated, says me. So my obvious answer to the second question is YES! How I adore zappos.com. I have no links for you, but they have so many great shoes and bags - that's where I would start...

Traditionally, I'd be all over searching Zappos.com up and down for the first thing I'd want to buy, but we're so poor now, I'd just be torturing myself.

Also, I'd go with lots of different things. Because 1.) I'm poor, didn't I tell you? and 2.) Opening a bunch of packages is way better than opening just one, even if it is really great. Or ...I don't know. It'd depend on HOW great.

I've never heard of Zappos. Imust be a complete weirdo. But I would be frivolous up to a certain number say $400. And use the rest for practical things.

Since I'm all about practical, my closet is full of plain clothing. I'd get a really nice dress. But I'd consult fashion friends like you to help me pick it out.

Me? Spread out the love... As for what I'd get? I'm too scared to look because I'd want it all and can't afford anything right now...

I'm horribly untrendy, and I couldn't find a single thing that pleased me over there. I did not look at shoes, though, so that might have changed things.

I would probably use the money to fill holes in my wardrobe. I wouldn't have to worry about having enough of something; jeans, socks, etc. Then I wouldn't have to use my own money on necessary, unfun clothing.

I always like to get the most bang for my buck, so I'd probably buy like 40 pairs of shoes. I also have something of a shoe fetish, so I might not be the best one for advice. Or you could just (hypothetically) give me the gift card, and then you don't need to worry about it.

:)

If I were you, I would share your ridiculously big gift card with your birthday twin who LOVES shoes and Zappos and is coveting the entire Stuart Weiztman line.

The end.

Um HELLO? Break it up baby. ONe should never spend $550 on an item of clothing or an accessory...that's just plain silly. And the first time I read this post I thought it said $50 to Zappos and that's why I didn't comment...because, me thinks, what bunch of things can you get for $50?

hehehe i know the hypothetically speaking part of this post and it makes me giggle a little...

ok can I still come back if I admit that I have NO idea what zappos is?? LOL

As far as the "hypothetical"...I don't think I could enjoy being frivolous...comes from being poor all my life...

I would have to spread it out...but that is just me!!

Oh, I love zappos. Love it. Such a great selection. I would probably buy two really nice pairs of shoes, in the $250/$275 range, if I had a $550 gift card.

Gosh, I didn't expect to shoe shop today!

I would DEFINITELY get HOARDES of shoes. Tons. Then I'd put them in a kitty pool or something so I could swim in their loveliness.

Sorry...haven't gotten new shoes for a while. Scratch that - haven't WORN new shoes for a while. Stupid winter.

That said, I can't post all the links to ALL the shoes I'd get, but the next shoes I buy will probably be for the wedding.

I like these. And these. And these. And THESE! (just kidding). Okay, that's enough. Obviously, I have a problem.

Hypothetically, I think you should buy your hypothetical BFF a lot of hypothetically hot items. That's my two cents on how to spend a hypothetically INSANE amount of money!

(By the way, holy crap! How fun for you! WOOHOOOOOO!)

I canot believe the only links you got were to wedding shoes. This is not okay. One needs boots.

-sorry I don't know how to imbed a link into comments...

one needs cute pumps

and now zappos.com is saying the site is too busy to look any more.

Don't get ONE pair, and don't get a BUNCH of pairs. Get 2 or 3 pairs of awesome shoes that will bring you joy every time your gaze rests upon them! *sigh*

First of all Uggs. You can hardly find them here. The I'd be checking out the sale in order to make that certificate go as far as it could! And I would go for more rather than one big thing. But then I don't have really expensive tastes.

Hope you have fun shopping!
